About the District

The Mountain Water and Sanitation District is a governmental division of the State of Colorado. Its primary purpose is to supply water for domestic use, and it may also supply water for commercial use. The district currently serves 384 homes in Kings Valley Custom Resorts, Conifer, Colorado.


Water used in the District must be for health and sanitation purposes and not for irrigation, livestock watering, car washing or recreational uses. To ensure adequate water for the health and safety of all families in the Mountain Water and Sanitation District, no water shall be drawn from District sources through garden hoses.

Radionuclide Update

MWSD continues to participate in the CO-RADS study being conducted by the Colorado Department of Health and Environment. This study will determine best practices in removing radionuclides from the water.
